An hormonal imbalance occurs when the ratio of these two hormones deviate from their normal levels. Most commonly, estrogen is the one that tends to increase and this is known as 'estrogen dominance'. This can occur in women as early as the age of thirty and as late as the age of sixty. There are many causes of hormone imbalance symptoms and these reasons include the following: Facial Hair Growth, Anxiety, Dizziness, Endometriosis, Loss of energy, Lowered sex drive, PMS, Bloating, and many other symptoms.

Hormonal imbalance in young women is caused due to over nutrition, malnutrition, erratic lifestyle, early onset of menopause, phytoestrogens present in food, use of birth control and contraceptive pills, stress and tension, thyroid problems, ovarian failure, etc. In older women, it is caused mainly due to menopause and can be identified on the onset of menopausal symptoms. Women may start experiencing hormonal imbalance when they are in their 30s or 40s.
